BLOX is an open Minecraft-building battle that took place for the 2nd consecutive year. The game is about building Minecraft for a given theme.

Minecraft is one of the most recognizable video game franchises in the world and it is an ideal game for youngsters and adults. It allows players to create and break apart various kinds of blocks in 3D worlds. This game has two main modes: Survival and Creative. In this competition, we use the mode of creativity. In Creative mode, Players are given all the supplies to build the creatures, and in this mode, they do not have to eat or survive. Creative mode offers a more open-ended experience such as flying and having access to an unlimited amount of in-game resources. It’s all about building anything from simple crafts like containers to weapons and building structures like houses, castles, and cities or even complex mechanical devices within the game’s world.

As stated by the competition guideline, all players were added to a group to share the rules and regulations to ensure the integrity of the game. And we informed players that the theme they have to build will be sent 1 day before the event. And all the players are given the freedom to build as they wish within the given building area. So, it’s nothing but competitors’ creativity and time management. Players had to start building their creation when the stopwatch timer starts to countdown and they were instructed to stop when the timer hits the 45-minute mark as every player was given that build time. This was live-streamed via Twitch.

On the day of the competition, competitors were asked to join a google meeting to introduce the competition BLOX and its rules and regulations. As claimed by the rules and regulations in the competition, the winner was awarded a cash prize worth 10,000 rupees.

We successfully concluded the competition with great pleasure in announcing Rtr. Rasandun Perera as the winner of BLOX.

Overall, it was a battle of imagination and creativity. And of course, a great opportunity for players to access the virtual sandbox where they can explore, create, and go on adventures.
